Bethany Ashram Social Apostolate
A Legacy of Compassion Since 1974
Trppaadam is a home of hope and compassion, dedicated to serving the aged, destitute, and mentally challenged with dignity and love.
Located in Pazhakutty, Nedumangadu, in the heart of Trivandrum district, Kerala, Trppaadam stands as a beacon of Christ's love for the marginalized. We serve all people regardless of caste, creed, or religion, embodying the universal compassion that lies at the heart of the Gospel.
Under the spiritual guidance of the Bethany Ashram Fathers, we provide comprehensive care that addresses not only physical needs but also emotional, psychological, and spiritual well-being. Our residents find more than shelter here – they find a true home, a caring family, and a community that values their inherent dignity.
As part of the Bethany Navajeevan Province's BIRDS (Bethany Integrated Rural Development Society), we are committed to holistic development and social transformation in rural Kerala.
To provide compassionate, holistic care to the aged, destitute, and mentally challenged, offering them dignity, love, and a true home where they are valued and cherished as children of God.
To be a model of Christ-centered social service, where every individual – regardless of background – experiences the transformative power of unconditional love and comprehensive care.
A journey of faith, service, and transformation
Fr. Gabriel Thaikkadavil OIC and companions began mission work in the Nedumangadu area, reaching out to marginalized communities with the love of Christ.
Trppaadam was officially founded as a social center under the leadership of Fr. Gabriel Thaikkadavil OIC, beginning our ministry to those in need.
Expanded services to welcome destitute patients from medical institutions, providing them with care, shelter, and dignity in a home environment.
Developed comprehensive programs including psycho-social rehabilitation, eldercare, and support services for children in need.
Launched Jubilee Memorial Hospice and Grace Palliative Care program, providing compassionate end-of-life care to the terminally ill.
Established Trppaadam Handicrafts, empowering residents through meaningful work and dignified livelihood opportunities.
Today, Trppaadam serves over 200 residents across five major programs, continuing to be a home of hope for the marginalized.
Trppaadam is part of the social apostolate of Bethany Ashram, a religious congregation in the Syro-Malankara Catholic Church.
The Bethany Ashram Fathers live out a unique charism that combines contemplative prayer with active service to the poor. This spiritual foundation guides everything we do at Trppaadam, ensuring that our work is rooted in deep prayer and flows from our relationship with Christ.
As part of the Syro-Malankara Catholic Church, we draw on the rich spiritual heritage of the ancient St. Thomas Christians of India, combining Eastern liturgical traditions with Catholic unity.
Through BIRDS (Bethany Integrated Rural Development Society), we engage in comprehensive rural development work including education, healthcare, social welfare, and community empowerment programs throughout Kerala.
